Supporting Parents on the Journey to Better Sleep

Hi, I'm Lacy, a pediatric sleep consultant and registered nurse. I have the pleasure of helping parents navigate the often tricky waters of their child’s sleep habits and bringing sleep back into their homes.

About Me

My journey to becoming a sleep consultant began after having children of my own. While I’ve always been interested in health and well-being, it wasn’t until I witnessed the profound impact of quality sleep on a child’s development that my focus shifted toward sleep consulting. I became passionate about helping parents gain the knowledge and tools they need to create a restful sleep environment for their little ones. For me, sleep consulting is more than just a job; it's an ideal role where I can see the remarkable difference that healthy sleep habits make for both children and their families.

Why I Became a Sleep Consultant

I became a sleep consultant because I know how challenging it can be when you’re struggling with your child’s sleep. I wanted to help parents teach their children how to sleep consistently through the night so the entire family could feel rested, refreshed, and ready to show up as their best selves every day. It’s incredibly rewarding to see parents reclaim their evenings and mornings, feeling confident and capable, and seeing children thrive with healthy sleep habits.

What Is Sleep Training?

Let’s talk about sleep “training.” The term can sometimes get a bad rap. To some, it might sound strict or rigid, but really, it's about education, guidance, and practice. Sleep training is about establishing healthy, independent sleep habits for children, and there isn’t just one way to get there. It’s less about the method itself and more about being consistent in reaching your goal.

There Is No One-Size-Fits-All Approach

Just as there are countless ways to reach any goal, there are multiple approaches to sleep training. What works perfectly for one family may not suit another, and that’s completely fine! Every child is unique, and every family has its own comfort levels and needs. The goal is to discover a method that feels right for you and supports your family’s sleep journey.

When Things Don’t Go as Planned

You probably had it all figured out, right? You read the books, took the classes, and bought all the "right" things. But even with the best preparations, parenting often comes with surprises. Maybe bedsharing seemed ideal until you found you couldn’t sleep, worried about your baby's safety. Or perhaps you aimed for an independent sleeper but ended up co-sleeping out of sheer exhaustion.

Remember, this is normal! Plans can change, and that's perfectly okay. Parenting is about flexibility and finding what works best in your situation. And sometimes, it means reaching out for a little extra support.
